Two Great Men

I would like to tell you about two great men who found their way in the twilight
years of their life. They are JOHN WAYNE and HARLAND SANDERS.

These two men are very different in nature, John Wayne the movie actor, his real name was Marion Morrison, the son of pharmacist Clyde Morrison. John Wayne appeared in over fifty movies before he won his Oscar at the age of 65 in a movie called “True Grit”. A few decades later the movie industry decides to make another movie, titled “ True Grit”. I do not think that is right, they could make another movie, but don’t call it True Grit. After all John Wayne won his only Oscar in this movie and played an outstanding role. So why cheapen it with another movie based on the same story line and the same name. There are a lot of people who did not see the original movie, never the less, but there are those of us who did. I for one will not go to see the new movie.

Harland Sanders, better known as the Colonel and the man who created Kentucky Field Chicken, the “finger licking’ good meal which became a fast-food sensation in the 1960s. Colonel Sander created the Kentucky Fried Chicken fast food chain at the age of 66. He started his KFC franchised in 1960 and today Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), is widely know all over the World, even in China and many other foreign countries. You can travel any place outside of the United States and get a wonderful meal of Kentucky Fried Chicken. There are many fast food franchise that has started but many are no longer around.

The point is this, both men found success in the Twilight years of their lives, in their 60’s. I think that is remarkable, which let everyone know that it is not how you start, but how you finish. There are many other men and women who found success in their later life. But these two men are the ones that got my attention. http://www.allen-myles.blogspot.com">
